The Sounds - Tony the Beat (Rex the Dog Remix)
I'm not that sold on The Sounds... their power pop is all very nice and catchy, but lazy images of Roxette can't help but permeate my consciousness. Albeit Roxette with a Killers album.
Their rawk-posturing just sounds a little too contrived, and also provides a rare example of a Swedish accent becoming irritating. (n.b. a tip; a Swede's English language ability can be assessed solely on how they pronounce the word 'cheese.' Try it.)
Anyway, all this is probably totally unfair, but hey, there's no doubt that The Sounds make near perfect driving music. I bet Clarkson fucking loves them. It's called 'Tony the Beat', for Christ's sake.
Throw godlike genius Rex the Dog into the mix though, and it's a different story. Rex is the one man who actually can polish a turd.

Hey now, there's nothing wrong with Roxette. Somebody here in the U.S. had to say it, and it may as well be me, because it's admittedly not as though anyone else around here listens to them.
Anyway...MANY thanks for this. It's a cheese match made in heaven, and I don't think I've heard anything since that damn Johnny Boy single that made me quite this giddy.
